Exotic Fiji Islands 2015-2016
Exotic – a word that is interchangeable with – Fjij!
As you may have gathered we don’t like to sit still. We seasonal nomads like to travel at any opportunity.
We are near the end however. The end of our escape from the cold Canadian winter that is. Having spent many winters away from home we’ve once gain been enjoying our exotic lifestyle of long term vacationing. For the past five and half months we’ve enjoyed the heat, sea breeze and a fantastic ocean views from the Coral Coast on the main island of Viti Levu. Not to mention, we may have enjoyed a cocktail or two.
We did hop around a bit again this year, mind you, not for as long as last years 28 day cruise around Indonesia and Australia.
Back in Fiji for a second season we went on a nine day adventure to visit another two that make up this archipelago of more than 330 islands – only 110 are permanently inhabited.
Let’s see, what all have we done? Well, working on our “how to live an exotic lifestyle” book for one!
Snorkeling. Waterfalls. New Years eve at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva. Sea plane rides to neighbouring islands. Boat and fishing trips. Swimming with sharks!
Happy hour appearances. Meeting new friends and seeing old ones. Long walks on the beach. Swimming. A must visit is the Fiji Museum in the capital city of Suva. The history of cannibalism is fascinating. We are thankful however that this practice is no longer in place! The time has flown by.
Another detour was made, to escape Cyclone Winston. We spent nine days in New Zealand. Jack was there, back in the day, but visiting the north island had always been on my bucket list.
What’s your next Evolving Bucket List adventure?
